Overview

Position Summary

 

Great Dane is seeking a highly motivated Analyst to join our Commercial Excellence team, with a focus on market research, sales planning, and competitive intelligence. This role will not only support sales strategy and forecasting, but also research industry trends, customer dynamics, and competitor activity to uncover opportunities and risks. The Analyst will turn complex data into clear, actionable insights that guide both near-term sales performance and long-term strategic direction.

The ideal candidate is both analytical and business-minded, comfortable blending market intelligence with sales planning to deliver insights that directly influence decision-making across Sales, Product, Marketing, and Executive Leadership.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

 

Market Research & Intelligence

 

· Conduct research on customer needs, competitor moves, and industry trends across the trailer and truck    body markets.

· Track economic indicators, regulatory changes, and market forces that impact demand.

· Maintain databases of market size, share, and segmentation to support commercial strategy.

· Deliver reports and dashboards highlighting demand signals, competitor strategies, and emerging         opportunities.

 

Sales Planning & Forecasting

 

· Partner with Sales Leadership on goal setting, pipeline tracking, and territory planning.

· Integrate market insights into sales forecasts, helping identify risks and growth opportunities.

· Provide scenario modeling and “what-if” analysis to support sales strategy and resource allocation.

· Evaluate product and channel mix to guide go-to-market execution.

 

Cross-Functional Support

 

· Collaborate with Marketing, Product Management, and Executive teams to align insights with business       priorities.

· Support strategic initiatives such as channel development with ad hoc research and analysis.

· Build compelling presentations and executive briefings that turn complex data into clear, persuasive insights.

Qualifications

Qualifications

 

· Bachelor’s degree in business, Economics, Market Research, Data Analytics, or a related field

· 2+ years of experience in market research, sales planning, or business/market intelligence (B2B       manufacturing or transportation experience preferred).

· Proven ability to analyze data, identify trends, and communicate recommendations effectively.

· Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; proficiency in visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI).

· Familiarity with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) and syndicated market research sources.

· Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence both peers and senior leaders.

· Highly organized self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

· Experience with Salesforce, SQL, or survey tools (e.g., Qualtrics)

· Understanding of supply chain, OEM business models, or commercial vehicle markets

· Curiosity about market trends, innovation, and what drives customer behavior
